Error : RMAN-06059 expected archived log not found, lost of archived log compromises recoverability
Many times you have faced this error whenever you’ve tried to delete the archive log file through RMAN.
I encountered this error while executing below command on RMAN.
RMAN> BACKUP DATABASE PLUS ARCHIVELOG DELETE ALL INPUT;Root Cause :
This error indicates that RMAN’s repository metadata references an archived log file that no longer exists at its recorded location.
Solution :
DBA has to mark its status of the archives from Available to Expired in RMAN repository.
RMAN> CROSSCHECK ARCHIVELOG ALL;
RMAN> DELETE EXPIRED ARCHIVELOG ALL;Your issue is resolved. 🙂
